  • Bangladesh’s first innings total of 97 is their fourth lowest total in Test cricket after 87 v West Indies at Dhaka in 2002-03, 90 v Sri Lanka at Colombo SSC in 2001-02 and 91 v India at Dhaka in 2000-01
  • Steve Waugh was captaining Australia for the 50th time in his career. He became third Australian after Allan Border (93) and Mark Taylor (50) and ninth player in Test history to do so.
  • Steve Waugh (100*) moved into joint second place on the all-time list of Test century makers along with India’s Sachin Tendulkar (31). Now only Sunil Gavaaskar-with 34 centuries- is ahead of Waugh.
  • Waugh became the second man to score hundreds against all Test playing nations after South Africa’s Gary Kirsten.
