Brief profile of Collis King
by Dr.A.K.Hignell

Player:CL King

Collis King was Glamorgan`s overseas player when they played Middlesex in the final of the Gillette Cup at Lord`s in 1977.

The Bajan all-rounder had made his Test debut the previous summer during the West Indies tour of England, and he struck an impressive 163 in their match against Northamptonshire. After joining Glamorgan in 1977, King was hampered by a series of niggling injuries, but when fit he proved to be a useful acquisition, especially in the one-day games.

King played World Series Cricket between 1977 and 1979, and also went on the `rebel` West Indian tours to South Africa in 1982/83 and 1983/84. He played for Worcestershire between 1983 and 1986, and has been a successful professional in League cricket in Northern England.
