Roy Davies was the younger brother of Haydn Davies, and after their parents were killed during World War Two, Haydn adopted Roy and became his legal father.

 

Roy was a useful right-handed batsman who played for St.Fagan`s between 1948 and 1956. In 1950 he made one appearance for Glamorgan, scoring 7 against Somerset at Weston-super-Mare.

 

Educated at Cardiff University, Roy was an industrial chemist and fuel technologist who worked for Unilever. Like Haydn, he was also a fine squash player and represented Wales.
