England finally tasted defeat as they were humbled by a determined South African A side. England could muster only an embarrassing 89 in 17.3 overs in their warm-up T20 encounter. South Africa A chased down the target in 17.3 overs to give the English team management some points to think over.

Ontong elected to field first to let his bowlers have a crack at the English batting line-up. The slide was started by CJ de Villiers when he had Joe Denly caught behind and in his next over de Villiers bagged the wicket of Trott. Collingwood tried to counter attack and to some extent he was successful but Tshabalala cleaned up the English skipper. Cook and Eoin Morgan attempted to rebuild but the innings fell apart swiftly when both departed. Matt Prior, Luke Wright and Tim Bresnan were all run out and when the final wicket fell England had failed to reach triple figures or bat out their overs.
The South African chase was dented as Swann picked out the openers to infuse a miracle win for England. The off-spinner was tidy and the South African batsmen knew that he was the danger-man. Adil Rashid collected a couple of wickets but Vaughn van Jaarsveld and Rory Kleinveldt made sure that there were no late hiccupsLATEST SCORES
