Norfolk won this return match by an innings and 9 runs at 2.30 pm in the second day. Norfolk had also won the match between the two sides at Nottingham in July. For the winners, there were 9 fours, 7 threes and 19 twos in Raikes's 133, scored in 3½ hours. Falcon's 51 included 2 sixes and 3 fours. In the Norfolk innings, Raikes and Birkbeck put on 137 runs for the fifth wicket. Falcon took 10 wickets in the match for 93 runs, including 7 for 53 in the Nottinghamshire first innings. For the losers, Whysall top-scored with 35. Raikes, who was captaining Norfolk, arrived late on the first day and Falcon took the toss.
