Berkshire won this return match by 98 runs shortly after 4 o'clock on the second day. The match between the two sides at Dorchester earlier in the month had been won by Berkshire. For Berkshire Brougham scored 77, which included 9 fours, and 86. In the first innings Hawksworth and Willcocks added 53 for the last wicket. Hawksworth took 6 wickets for 28 runs in the Dorset second innings. For Dorset Sewell scored 62 and Webb 53. Sewell took 10 wickets in the match for 171 runs.
