Tom Morgan was a correct, if at times ultra-cautious right-handed batsman, whose steady efforts at the top of Glamorgan `s batting order in the 1920`s earned him the nickname of Stonewall Morgan.

After leaving Monmouth School, Morgan made his Glamorgan debut in their Minor County fixture with Kent at Bromley in 1913. He remained a regular in their side after the Great War, and then in 1921 when Glamorgan entered the County Championship.
Morgan played in 39 first-class games until 1925, but never managed to score a century, with his best effort being an unbeaten 87 against Leicestershire at Leicester one of four occasions when the obdurate opener carried his bat. Had he received greater support from his colleagues, he might have made it to the three figure mark.
