Steve Malone spent a year on Glamorgan`s books in 1985 after spells with Essex and Hampshire.

 

The effervescent and popular seam bowler had failed to command a regular place with his previous two counties and in 1985 at Southampton he produced a hostile spell of 5/38 against his former employers. It proved to be his finest moment in Glamorgan colours and in 1986 he moved north to play for Durham before returning south to play for Dorset and Wiltshire.

 

He has recently been a youth coach in Hampshire.
