Brief profile of Tyrone Powell
by Dr.A.K.Hignell

Player:TL Powell

Tyrone Powell only played one first-class match for Glamorgan. That was in 1976 against the West Indians at Swansea, and the young colt was dismissed without scoring in both innings.

The right-handed batsman had been born in South Wales, but brought up in New Zealand, where he played for the New Zealand under-23 team in 1971/72. He played for Glamorgan`s 2nd XI in 1975 and played in Glamorgan`s limited overs friendly against East Africa at Sophia Gardens.

The following year he continued to play in second team matches, but after the match against the West Indians he never made another first team appearance. Powell subsequently moved to East Anglia and played in Minor County matches for Norfolk between 1982 and 1986.
