Dillwyn Thomas had a fine record in club cricket for Neath and Elba, but the right-arm seamer did not make his county debut until 1939, when at the age of 33 he took 5/64 against Essex at Ilford in his first Championship match. Later in the season, when Johnnie Clay was unavailable for the match against Yorkshire at Bradford, Thomas was included in Glamorgan`s side again.

 

These proved to be his only first-class appearances as after the Second World War, the county gave opportunities to younger bowlers.
