| Player: | KJ Lyons |
Kevin Lyons has had a lifetime in first-class cricket as a player, coach and umpire. The Cardiff-born cricketer joined the Glamorgan staff in 1967 and showed promise as a top order batsman.

In 1972 he announced his retirement from the first-class game to become the county`s assistant coach and 2nd XI captain, and for the next eleven years he helped to groom the next generation of Glamorgan cricketers.
During the 1970`s, Lyons also acted as coach to Western Province in South Africa, and in 1976 and 1977 he returned to Glamorgan`s side when they were hit by injuries. In 1984 he became a first-class umpire, but Lyons returned to coaching in 1992 when he took over as the coach of Worcestershire. He reverted back to umpiring in 1996, and then in 2000 he became the coach of the Cardiff University Cricketing Centre of Excellence.
