Player: | MS Kasprowicz |
Michael Kasprowicz was Glamorgan`s overseas player, when they won the National League title in 2002 and 2004. His signing in 2002 followed the retirement of Steve Watkin, and the burly Queenslander filled Watkin`s boots by successfully spearheading Glamorgan`s new ball attack as they won the one-day title.

'Kasper' who had previously played county cricket for Essex and Leicestershire, duly won his place back in the Australia side for both One day Internationals and full Tests, and he was in their squad for the thrilling 2005 Ashes series.
With younger bowlers emerging, 'Kasper' subsequently lost his place in the Australian team and during 2006/07 he picked up a series of injuries which initially restricted his appearances, before hastening his retirement from first-class cricket in February 2008.
In all, Kasper played in 38 Tests and 43 One-Day Internationals for Australia, and during his first-class career, he claimed 955 wickets, including 151 for Glamorgan in 34 matches between 2002 and 2004. His finest hour in the County Championship came at Cardiff in 2003 when he took 9/36 against Durham the second best figures ever for the Welsh county, and the best since the Second World War.
As far as one-day games are concerned, the Queenslander claimed 298 victims, including 62 wickets for Glamorgan, and the countys supporters will never forget his vital contributions with the ball in their National League campaign in 2002, especially his decisive closing spell against Kent at Canterbury as the Welsh county clinched the league title.
"I've enjoyed every moment I had in the game, and I'm excited about the new opportunities that now await me," he said on announcing his decision to end his playing career. "I'm looking forward to doing things like going to the beach on a Saturday in summer for the first time since I was about eight years old and spending time with my family together. Probably the one thing I will miss is the feeling you get in a winning dressing room and being with your mates."
He leaves the game as Queensland'smost successful wicket-taker.
