Steve Henderson played in 27 first-class matches for Glamorgan between 1983 and 1985, and the Cambridge Blue was viewed in some quarters as a potential captain. However, Henderson retired from county cricket in 1985 and now works in the City of London

 

The forceful left-handed batsman had previously played for Worcestershire between 1977 and 1981 whilst studying at Durham University and he then went up to Magdalene College for a postgraduate course. Whilst up at Cambridge University, Henderson scored a career-best 209* against Middlesex at Fenner`s in 1982.

 

After leaving the first-class game, Henderson played for Hertfordshire and the Minor Counties. He has also been a member of various M.C.C. committee`s.
