Geoff Ellis was one of the leading schoolboy cricketers in North Wales in the late 1960`s and the Llandudno-born all-rounder joined the Glamorgan staff in 1970. He subsequently played in 75 first-class matches between until 1976, scoring one century, against Middlesex at Cardiff in 1974.
 
He left the county game in 1976, but Ellis continued to be a leading all-rounder in club cricket, playing for Wales in the 1979 I.C.C. Trophy and leading the Glamorgan 2nd XI in 1983.
