Jimmy Eaglestone won Championship medals with Middlesex in 1947 and then with Glamorgan in 1948.

After a spell on the M.C.C. groundstaff and then with Middlesex, the left-handed batsman moved to South Wales in search of greater opportunities of first-team cricket. His steady batting and fine ground fielding helped secure him a regular place in Glamorgan`s team that won the Championship for the first time in their history as well as his county cap.
He left the county`s staff in 1949 and returned to London where he ran a newsagents business in the Paddington area.
