PARAVICINI, Percy John De
Amateur.
Born at Kensington, London, 15th July 1862.
Died at Pangbourne, Berkshire, 11th October 1921.
The son of Baron J.P. de Paravicini, of Riverside, Datchet, Windsor, he was educated at Aldin House, Slough and Eton School, where he was a member of the cricket eleven 1878-81, being captain 1880-81. He went up to Trinity College, Cambridge, playing cricket for the University 1882-85 and winning his blue all four years, and also winning his blue for soccer in 1883. The first of his 121 first-class matches was played in 1881, for Middlesex for who he played 62 times. He also played for Buckinghamshire 1899-1911. He played soccer in two Cup Finals for Old Etonians, being on the winning side in 1882 against Blackburn Rovers, and played for England against Scotland, Wales and Ireland in 1883. He was a J.P. for Buckinghamshire and during the First World War took command of the Datchet Volunteer Platoon.
In the Census of 1881 he was resident at Eton College, Common Lane, Buckinghamshire, a boarder, aged 18, in the house of R.A.H. Mitchell. His widowed mother, Valentina, aged 60, income from shares, was living at Riverside, Datchet, with her son Prior F. aged 23 and three domestic servants.
