THREAPLETON, Joseph William.
Professional.
Born at Pudsey, Yorkshire, 20th July 1857.
Died at Pudsey, Yorkshire, 30th July 1918.
He was engaged by the Bradford Club in the 1880s and from 1890 until 1894 he was engaged by the Harrogate Club. He was for a time the regular wicket-keeper for the Yorkshire 2nd XI but he only got the one match for the county side against Sussex at Bramall Lane in 1881. He was a boot maker by trade.
In the 1881 Census he appears living at Crimbles, Pudsey, Yorkshire, with his widower father, aged 67 born at Gunnerside. He is aged 23, a boot maker, and his wife Ruth, aged 22 born Pudsey, is a worsted weaver.
