With no history of family involvement in the game, Gordon’s introduction to the game was at primary school. Having been awarded the junior player of the year award at his club, Stoneywood-Dyce, in 1999, Gordon was named man of the match in the European U15 championship match against Denmark in Denmark in 2002. He has made a habit of achieving such awards as he was named player of the tournament at the European U17 championships in Denmark 2003 before being selected for the tournament “dream team” at the ICC European U19 world cup qualifying competition in Holland, also in 2003. He is a club-mate of skipper Kyle Coetzer. The youngest member of the squad, Gordon’s idol is Darren Gough (England) all of whose books he has read.
