Scorecard: | Gloucestershire v Lancashire |
Summary
The Gloucestershire jinxed returned once again at a packed Cheltenham ground, as Lancashire suffered a crushing 102 run defeat. Truthfully, Lancashire never bowled, batted or fielded well. In conjunction with the loss of an important toss and in the face of a Duckworth /Lewis calculation, the visitors were always in second best. Spearman blasted 46 from 32 balls to set Gloucester on their way. Contributions of 60 from Hussey and 31 from Windows ensured the hosts eased their way passed 200. Chris Schofield top scored for Lancashire with 22 runs, as the innings never shifted out of first gear. Jon Lewis finished with 5 for 23 from 6.2 overs. Lancashire never even managed to bat their overs out, or survive even 30 overs.
