Steady rain fell between 9am and 11am. The umpires elected to inspect the ground just after 10.45am during the rain - quite bizarre! One further shower fell around 11.30am, but from then on the day remained dry and generally sunny. The option to abandon play so early merely proved that no one could be bothered.
