Former skipper Paul Collingwood admits he would like to lead England again in the ICC World Twenty20 in June. The captain and squad will be named on Friday and Collingwood, who quit the one-day captaincy in 2008 after 24 ODIs and 10 Twenty20 games, is a favourite. Collingwood, who seemed to have ruled himself out last month, said: "It would be an exciting challenge."

Test skipper Andrew Strauss was left out of the squad and Kevin Pietersen is unlikely to be considered. Hampshire's Dimitri Mascarenhas, who, like Collingwood, is currently competing in the Indian Premier League in South Africa, has already put his name forward for the captaincy.Andrew Flintoff and Rob Key are other potential candidates, though Flintoff's fitness may be in doubt after knee surgery and Key has had no international involvement for several seasons.
Collingwood had a modest record as an international skipper in both forms of the one-day game, winning 10 and losing 12 of his 50-over internationals, with one tie and one non-result. In Twenty20 matches he has lost five but won five, including his last three in charge, against New Zealand. Delhi Daredevils have elected not to call on his services for any of their first four matches, though having suffered their first defeat on Tuesday may now pick him for their match against Deccan Chargers on Thursday. After that contest in Centurion, Collingwood flies back to England.LATEST SCORES
