There were no surprises in the Indian squad selected to defend the ICC Twenty20 World Cup to be held in England in June 2009.
The 15-member squad, led by Mahendra Singh Dhoni, was largely made of the success stories, real or potential, of the Indian Premier League, chapter two.

Sreesanth have been left out of the team that won the inaugural World Cup in 2007.
Virender Sehwag has been named Dhonis deputy this time, a post held by Yuvraj Singh last time around.
