Player:RG Sharma

DateLine: 5th May 2009

He looks tremendously good when he bats in full flow. He is full of gifted talent, has the ability to pick up boundaries at will and has the extra time that is needed to play a better than a good shot. Another find of India's wonderful T20 World Cup campaign in 2007, Sharma can play both the roles of a sedate batsman and because he has all the shots in the book can also play aggressor if the situation demands. He did very well in the VB series that India won against Australia in Australia and then also played a very handy knock in the first final batting alongside Sachin Tendulkar. He was often the last ball boundary scorer for India in the T20 World Cup after he came in pretty down in the middle order, with hardly a few balls to face. He was bought for US$750,000 by the Deccan Chargers in the IPL, and made 404 runs at 36.73 including four fifties justifying the high price the franchisee paid for him.
