Praveen Kumar, like Ishant Sharma, was instrumental in India's success in the ODI's Down Under in 2007-08. He is considered as a man of many abilities. Someone who is a very good bowler, one who can move the ball both ways, Praveen is also known for hitting lusty blows coming down the order. Something which he is proving in the IPL second season. In his first First-class season, also a season when UP lifted the championship, Kumar was easily the best player on show for them. His stats showed 41 wickets which included four five-fors and one 10-for. With the willow he scored 386 runs at quick pace and hit three half-centuries in the process. Great control over his line and length, and the ability to move the new ball, no matter what the conditions are make him ideal foil for English conditions. He certainly fills in the third seamer position perfectly in the Indian team at the moment and seeing the way he is bowling for the Royal Challengers Bangalore in the IPL second season, the indications are good for the summer in England.
