Parnell led the South Africa U-19 squad in the World Cup in Malaysia. he showed good leadership qualities and the team reached the finals of the event, where eventually they succumbed to India. His show in international cricket has also been quite impressive thus far. He bowls a tight leash and matches Steyn for pace. His stock delivery is the one which comes into the right-hander and he troubled quite a number of Australian batsman with that in the recently concluded ODI series in South Africa. Apart from being a good new-ball bowler, Parnell is also an effective lower order batsman and that should come in handy for the South African side as well in the T20 World Championship.
