Player: | JH Kallis |
DateLine: 7th May 2009
After an ordinary start to his Test career, Kallis became of the best batsmen during his time, reeling centuries at will. He nailed down the crucial No. 3 position in the South African batting order after a number of players had been tried and discarded, and his stock rose exponentially from that moment.

In 2005, he was honoured as the ICC's Test and overall Player of the Year, after a run of monumental performances against West Indies and England. Till the emergence of Andrew Flintoff, Kallis was by some distance the leading all-rounder in the world game, capable of swinging the ball sharply at surprising pace off a relaxed run-up. Kallis has always been considered as one dimensional batsman but he has the ability to shift gears effortlessly when the situation demands. Even though he is considered as a dour batsman he can still send some balls flying into the stands and in Test cricket bowlers will have to do something extraordinary to go past his broad bat. Adding to his batting and bowling quality he is a safe slip fielder which puts him in the bracket of all time best all roundersLATEST SCORES
