Praveen Kumar, like Ishant Sharma, was instrumental in India's success in the ODI's Down Under in 2007-08. He is considered as a man of many abilities. Someone who is a very good bowler, one who can move the ball both ways, Praveen is also known for hitting lusty blows coming down the order, something which he proved in the IPL second season. In his first First-class season, also a season when UP lifted the championship, Kumar was easily the best player on show for them. His stats showed 41 wickets which included four five-fors and one 10-for. With the willow he scored 386 runs at quick pace and hit three half-centuries in the process. Praveen did not have a single outing in India’s disastrous campaign in England. Considering that he is genuine mover of the cricket ball on both the sides, he could have been a handful for oppositions. Now he is travelling to West Indies and in the absence of Zaheer Khan he would be pivotal to India’s performance there.
