If there has been one player whose reputation in the last two years, since the completion of the 2007 World Cup ended, has touched the skies, it has been Gautam Gambhir. He has been instrumental in India's recent success both at home and away. Gambhir was India's highest scorer in the T20 World Cup the last time around and he also grabbed the man of the match in the finals against Pakistan where he played a super knock to give India a competitive total. Since then he has not looked back at all.’ Gautam looked terribly out of sorts in India’s dismal ICC T20 World Cup 2009. The shots were not coming and the bowlers it seemed had gauged his weaknesses. West Indies would surely be testing times for this left-hander and his reputation of being one of India’s biggest finds in the last two years would be at stake after a poor couple of months. Whether its been Australia, Sri Lanka, New Zealand or at home, he has been a thorn in the flesh of the opposition bowling. On his last tour to New Zealand in 2009, Gambhir answered a lot of critics who had put a question mark over his temparament, saying that the lad is an aggressor and won't be able to play a long one when needed. He was the highest scorer in the Test series scoring 445 runs on the tour and his contribution to the Indian victory was huge. He set up the win at Hamilton, Saved an almost lost match at Napier and then was exceptional in Wellington as well.
