Event: | Bangladesh in West Indies 2009 |
DateLine: 1st August 2009
Propelled by half-centuries from Junaid Siddique and Mahmudullah, Bangladesh completed a 3-0 whitewash of the West Indies.
Set 249 to win, opener Junaid made 55 to put Bangladesh on course and despite another good effort of four for 63 from pace bowler Kemar Roach, number seven Mahmudullah (51no) completed the job with seven balls to spare.
The hosts batting first made an unconvincing 248 all out in 47.4 overs, after choosing to bat first at Warner Park.
Though opener Andre Fletcher (52) gave them a good start, the Windies could hardly establish any momentum.
Fletcher's opening partner Kieran Powell fell for a first-ball duck on his international debut, and it was 10 for two after Devon Smith also went cheaply.
Captain Floyd Reifer and Darren Sammy both made useful runs, but wickets continued to fall too regularly for comfort.
