Virat Kohli will replace Gautam Gambhir in Sri Lanka after the latter was ruled out of the event because of a groin injury.

 

"Gautam Gambhir has strained his groin muscle and has been advised rest for ten days," BCCI secretary N Srinivasan said in a statement.

 

"He will be returning to India," he added.

 

"The All India Selection Committee has decided to send Virat Kohli as the replacement batsman to Sri Lanka for the tri-series," the BCCI statement said.

 

"Kohli will join the team at the earliest," Mr Srinivasan added.
