Event:ICC Champions Trophy 2009/10

DateLine: 5th October 2009

India team manager Anurag Thakur reasoned poor bowling and bad luck were the reasons why India crashed out early from the ICC CT.

"Indian bowlers did not bowl up to their potential and ultimately we lost to Pakistan," Thakur, who is also a BJP MP from Hamirpur in Himachal Pradesh, told reporters.

"Overall India performed well, which is evident from the win against West Indies, but defeat against Pakistan ultimately proved costly and we found ourselves out of the tournament," Thakur said.

Thakur also spoke about the injury to Sachin Tendulkar after a bout of food poisoning.

"Sachin along with some other teammates had their food together, but Sachin had food poisoning and was possibly dehydrated."

"He was feeling weak and that was the reason why he felt giddy and hurt himself in the hotel room.
