DateLine: 6th October 2009
Cricket Australia said the Champions Trophy triumph would inspire the team to do well in the upcoming ODI series against India.

CA Chief Executive Officer James Sutherland said the win, the team's 10th in the last 11 ODI's has proved that Australia remain a world-class unit despite retirements by legends like Shane Warne and Glenn McGrath.
"To cement our world number one ranking by winning this world championship after losing critical players such as Brad Haddin, Nathan Bracken and then Michael Clarke to injury was a great effort by the group, and is an encouraging sign for our imminent series against India and the summer ahead here in Australia," Sutherland said.
"I congratulate the ICC and the host body, Cricket South Africa, on their collective efforts in pulling together an action-packed tournament that was enjoyed by millions of fans around the world," he said.LATEST SCORES
