India's Champion batsman Sachin Tendulkar has pulled out of the N K P Salve Challenger Series to be held in Nagpur from October 8-11.

 

"Tendulkar would not be playing in the Challenger Series," Cricket Board sources told a news agency.

 

Tendulkar was named in the India Blue team to be led by national captain Mahendra Singh Dhoni.

 

Meanwhile, with the non-availability of the injured Yuvraj Singh for the tournament, a new captain is to be decided by the selectors for India Red.

 

India Green, the third team in the fray in the 50-over-a-side day-night tournament to be held at the newly constructed Vidarbha Cricket Association (VCA) stadium in Jamtha, will be captained by Suresh Raina.
