Australia will go into the third and final Test against the West Indies in Perth with an unchanged 12-man squad despite being hit by injuries to pace bowlers Peter Siddle and Ben Hilfenhaus.

Hilfenhaus missed the drawn game in Adelaide with a knee problem while Siddle's hamstring injury prevented him from bowling more than eight overs in the West Indian second innings but Siddle retains his place in the squad with Hilfenhaus missing out altogether.

“The advice from our medical staff is that Ben Hilfenhaus, while continuing to improve, is not available for selection and will now aim to be fit for the first Test against Pakistan," chair of selectors Andrew Hilditch explained.

“Peter Siddle's fitness will be assessed daily leading up to the match and we are hopeful he will recover in time to take his place in the side for what should be an exciting climax to the three-match Test series.”

Should he not be fit enough to play, Clinton McKay, drafted in as a replacement for Hilfenhaus in Adelaide, will make his Test debut.

Australia lead the series 1-0 after an innings-and-65-run win in Brisbane.
