The first innings lead came to Karnataka's rescue as they reached the last four. The home side had a lead of 78 runs as the quarterfinal match against Punjab ended in a tame draw.

 

Punjab, resuming on 165 for one did not approach the innings in an aggressive manner as the visitors just kept going with the flow. For Punjab Uday Kaul batted fluently compiling a well-made 89 (127b, 10x4s) before Vinay Kumar ended his stay.

 

Punjab declared at 367 for six in 107 overs, setting a target of 290. The host scored 42 for one in 24 overs, before the match was called off.
