A rampant Australian side claimed the one-day series with another effortless win over the Windies by 50 runs. Australia in their stipulated 50 overs scored a massive 324 for the loss of seven wickets. The Australian score was propelled by Ricky Ponting's well paced century. The West Indian side in reply could manage to score just 274 for the loss of 8 wickets in their stipulated 50 overs.

Gayle won the toss and he elected to bat first hoping that his bowlers would be able to repeat the heroics of the previous match. But the Australian batsmen seemed to have a better measure of them as they attacked relentlessly from ball number one. Ponting (106, 112 balls, 6x4, 2x6) and White (63, 78 balls, 2x4, 1x6) made sure that a solid base is lid before launching assault in the final overs. James Hopes (42, 21 balls, 6x4) then used the long handle to good effect as he plundered some useful runs in the closing overs to push the score to 324.
The visitors in reply could never get the pace of their innings right as they were always behind the required scoring rate. To make th matter worse they lost wickets at regular intervals. Deonarine (53, 69 balls, 6x4), Pollard (62, 55 balls, 4x4, 2x6) and Smith (59, 63 balls, 3x4, 3x6) chipped in with half-centuries but they were not enough to worry the hosts.LATEST SCORES
