R.Vinay Kumar conjured a magical over in which he scalped three wickets to deflate the high flying Mumbai Indians and set up an easy win for Royal Challengers in the DLF IPL 3 match at the Baraboune stadium here on Saturday night.

The stocky bowler may not be the meanest one in the bowling line-up but he was lion-hearted and his over turned the contest overwhelmingly in favour of Royal Challengers. Vinay first had the in form Ambati Rayandu flashing at an away going delivery which bounced and was caught by wicketkeeper Boucher. Tendulkar exposed his leg stump trying to get inside the line of a straight delivery and missed it to be bowled and Bravo was trapped in front. Mumabi lost three wickets for just two runs in that over and had surrendered the initiative.
Royals came out with a plan and executed it to perfection. If Pathan was rendered strokeless by effective use of short balls in the earlier match, Royals used the same ploy against Mumabi Indians. Dale Steyn made the ball talk in his first spell and Praveen Kumar too was incisive. Jayasuriya fell to the bait early and was prised out with a fast outswinger. Tare too was uncomfortable and was snared with the short stuff. The in form Tiwary didnt get any gifts and was kept on a tight leash by the medium pacers. The old fox Kumble came to the party luring Tiwary for the big shot and flummoxed the batsmen with a faster delivery which disturbed the timber.
After Vinay's eventful over, it was left to Pollard and Satish to repair the damage. The duo added 48th for the seventh wicket when Steyn came back to torment the pair and dismissed them in the same over. Zaheer punished Praveen Kuma,r who bowled the fullish length, in the last over for 16runs.
Kallis and Manish Pandey added their third consecutive 50-run partnership for the opening wicket. Kallis drove Malinga for a two boundaries in classical style in the first over to set the tone for the innings. The friendly pace of Pollard and Bravo were taken apart by Pandey who grew in confidence. Kallis started like a man in hurry but settled down to watch Pandey and others tear the Mumbai attack to shreds. The opening pair added 85 runs and the pressure was sustained by both Uttappa and Kohli as Banglore cantered home in style.LATEST SCORES
