Haslingden sign Boam

Haslingden have signed former Settle professional Harry Boam.

 

Haslingden Chairman Mark Rothwell said: "Harry is 21 years old next month and extremely keen to develop his game in the Lancashire League. He plays for Wellington where is he highly thought of. He has previous experience of playing in the area when he played for Settle in the Ribblesdale League. He is an all rounder and just the sort of player we feel will fit in well with our young team."

 

Boam played one match as sub professional for Church against Enfield in 2010 when he scored 50 and took 3-18 in a 6 wicket win. In his time at Settle he scored 952 runs and he also took 60 wickets in league matches.

 

To date he has scored 421 runs at 30.0 and taken 14 wickets in First-class matches for Wellington.

 

Boam will be Haslingden's second New Zealand professional after Tama Canning who was at Bentgate in 2006.
