DateLine: 28th July 2016
Mumbai, July 26: Muttiah Muralitharan, who was involved in war of words with Sri Lanka Cricket (SLC) was not at the Pallekele International Cricket Stadium to watch the day's proceedings of the first Test match, which began against Australia on Tuesday. For that matter he was not even in Kandy. This was confirmed by his Indian wife Madhi.

Speaking exclusively over her mobile from Sri Lanka, she said, "he is in our Colombo facotry".
Without commenting on whether Murali is still upset over the recent controversy, she said, "after his retirement we have not gone for any of the matches".
When asked specifically whether he would break the jinx during the recent series, where his expert knowledge on the game was utilized by the visiting Australian team, Madhi said, "no matter what we don't go for any matches because of school and his own business commitments".
Their two children-daughter Krisha and elder son Naren- have grown up. Naren plays cricket and his school team (Gateway School) won the runner up trophy in Under-13 tournament.
Murali is very busy with his business (manufacturing of cans). Despite being in his very busy schedule, Murali spares time for the charity.
"Murali is a true Sri Lankan. He has done so much for his country. He has built 1000 houses and has helped 50,000 families through his foundation. He has also supported many young talented cricketers throughout the nation", she added.
"Murali is world's best in his field. His passion and love for the game has got him the world record".
The Indian wife didn't say a word against the Sri Lankan Cricket (SLC) board.
It is hoped Murali would be available to give away the trophy to the Test series winning team on the last day of the 3rd Test match in Colombo. After all, the trophy is being named after world's two legendary spinners-Shane Warne and Muralitharan.
Cricket Australia to resolve Murali controversy
In the meantime, visiting Australian team is hopeful of resolving the controversy.
"We can confirm we received an email from Sri Lanka Cricket and after discussions between the two management teams we consider the matter to be resolved", Kate Hutchison, the CA spokesperson said to this Reporter.
However, it could not be confirmed whether Murali would be invited for the discussions.
