Mumbai, Aug. 18 : India's Virender Sehwag will be able to enjoy all privileges at Lord's, the Mecca of Cricket, according to Rhys Hayward, the Digital Editor at the Marylebone Cricket Club (MCC).
On Tuesday, the former India opener was awarded the life membership of the world's most active and very old cricket club.
"Sehwag will enjoy all the normal rights and privileges of a Full Member of the Club", he said over telephone from Lord's.
"He will get (free) entry to Lord's for all matches".
Sehwag has only played one Test match at the Home of Cricket the 2002 clash with England - in which he scored 84 and 27 runs.
The club has more than 300 Life Members and the Honorary Life Memberships are awarded to the finest cricketers (men and women) and officials associated with the game.
He is the 23rd Indian player being awarded this honour. The last one was Anjum Chopra, the woman cricketer earlier this year.
Sehwag and his wife, Aarti, when contacted, expressed their happiness over this honour.
"In the event of death the Honorary Life Membership is not transferred to the spouse or the legal heir", the MCC official added.
