Mumbai, Aug. 28 : Had there been no earlier issues with the national sanctioning organisation, it would have been Pakistan team, and not Team India, which could have made its early debut at the Central Broward Regional Park Stadium Turf Ground in Lauderhill, Florida. This was revealed by Richard Kaplan, the Mayor of the City of Lauderhill.

Speaking exclusively over his mobile on the eve of the two T20 matches on Saturday and Sunday, between India and West Indies, he said, "we almost had Pakistan play here a little while ago but we ran into some problems with our national sanctioning organization which is now been resolved for the time being".
"I have heard interest in wanting Australia, South Africa, and England to play. But I am sure that we would be open to all comers".
The current season, however, may not be the right time to host matches in Florida.
"As to your question as to the best months to play cricket in our Stadium, I would say that almost any month of the year would be fine but I would avoid August, September and October because that is traditionally our hurricane season".
"January, February and March are also busy tourist seasons so that may create some problems accommodating the games. But it is possible with enough notice", he added.
The Indian cricket board may decide to play few initial IPL matches at this venue. The IPL chairman Rajeev Shukla has already reached there and is certain to discuss the possibilities early next week. He is scheduled to meet P. K. Guha at his Detroit residence on 29th August, it is learnt here.
"Recently the CPL games were played here and there was some talk about other Premier Leagues. We are open to such games if they can be arranged. I know that there are many within the United States that would love to see this happen", the Mayor signed off.
