Younis Khan has learnt his father had passed away and has decided to fly home from Australia. The news came after he had kept wicket and taken three catches during Pakistan's thrilling win over Australia in the VB Series match in Perth on 30th January.

According to late reports, Younis immediately decided to return home. A Cricket Australia spokesman was reported by AFP as saying that Younis was shattered and would be taking the first available flight home.

In this crucial match against Australia he was included in the Pakistan side as a wicketkeeper and No. 3 batsman replacing regular wicketkeeper Kamran Akmal.

Pakistan will play the West Indies on 1st February in what has turned out to be essentially a semifinal to decide which team will play Australia in the best of three finals.
