Peter Sleep has rejoined Rishton as an amateur after a two year spell at Read, initially as professional, but latterly as an amateur.

The return of Sleep will be a big boost to the young Rishton side who will again be captained by Scott Greaves.
After a glittering career as a professional, including creating a new Lancashire League batting record in 1991 whilst he was at Rishton, Sleep returned to Rishton as an amateur in 2001, captaining the side to an Inter League Challenge Trophy win over Littleborough. The veteran all rounder scored 920 league runs but in all competitions he totalled 1280, 359 of which came in the Inter League Trophy with a record breaking 152 against Stand the highlight. After another season at Rishton, Sleep then agreed to rejoin Read as professional for the 2003 season.
