As the only county cricketer currently playing who was born in Brunei, Ben France is already a firm fixture in any cricket quizmaster’s arsenal of answers. He is an opening batsman with both a range of shots and a capacity to get out, usually either caught behind or through an expansive but misjudged shot. This suggests that both technique and shot selection are areas to work on. His medium pace is serviceable, and could develop into a useful partnership breaking weapon or be a handy tool in limited overs cricket, which would take the pressure off his attempts to make it in the hazardous position of inexperienced opener.
