Pakistan include five spinners in first Test squad against England

Pakistan included five spinners in a 16-man squad announced Friday for the first Test against England starting in two weeks time, officials said.

 

The squad includes the fast-bowling duo of Shoaib Akhtar and Mohammad Sami, besides recalled leg-spinner Mushtaq Ahmed.

 

Both Akhtar and Sami missed Pakistan's tour of the West Indies in May-June this year. Mushtaq played the last of his 52 Tests against South Africa in 2003.

 

Allrounder Abdul Razzaq missed out due to an elbow injury.

 

The first of three Tests starts in Multan from November 16.

 

Squad: Inzamam-ul-Haq (captain), Salman Butt, Shoaib Malik, Younis Khan, Mohammad Yousuf, Asim Kamal, Shahid Afridi, Kamran Akmal, Mohammad Sami, Danish Kaneria, Arshad Khan, Mushtaq Ahmed, Shoaib Akhtar, Naved-ul-Hasan, Shabbir Ahmed and Hassan Raza.
