New Zealand has named a 14-man squad for the tri-series one-day tournament against Australia and England but expects to later bring in some big names currently missing through injury.

The squad is the same as that named for the fourth one day international against Sri Lanka in Auckland on Saturday, with the addition of veteran batsman Nathan Astle for the tournament, to be played in Australia. The tri-series, to be played from January 12 to February 13, is another important step in the preparation of the New Zealand team for the World Cup which starts in March.
Coach John Bracewell said Wednesday the selectors had chosen a squad of only 14 as other players were expected to return from injury.
Pace bowler Kyle Mills and allrounders Jacob Oram and Scott Styris are expected to join the tour party part way through the tournament.
"Because of the looming World Cup, we are managing the selection process for this tour differently to other tours," Bracewell said. "There are several key players who are gradually returning to the game after injury. They will return when ready, even if it is part way through the tour," he added.
New Zealand squad for tri-series: Stephen Fleming (captain), Andre Adams, Nathan Astle, Shane Bond, James Franklin, Peter Fulton, Mark Gillespie, Hamish Marshall, Michael Mason, Brendon McCullum, Craig McMillan, Jeetan Patel, Ross Taylor and Daniel Vettori.LATEST SCORES
