Peter Ongondo returned one-day career best figures of 5-51 to lead Kenya to a crushing 158-run victory over Canada in the World Cricket League tournament on Monday. The fast-medium pacer, with sterling support from bowling partner Thomas Odoyo (4-39), helped dismiss Canada - chasing 251 to win - for a paltry 92. George Codrington top scored with 24, while eight other batsmen failed to make double figures for Canada. Kenya raced to victory in just 14.5 overs, handing the hosts a psychological advantage over their first round opponents at the World Cup in the West Indies in five weeks time. Kenya's win set up another mouth-watering final clash against Scotland at the Nairobi Gymkhana club on Wednesday with both teams having already been assured of their places in the World Twenty20 championships in South Africa next September. Kenya started their innings on the wrong footing with Maurice Ouma and David Obuya failing to apply the same magic that saw them win the opening match for Kenya against Bermuda at the same venue a week ago. Both men fell with just seven runs on the board but the fifth wicket duo of Tanmay Mishra (62) and Collins Obuya (48) stemmed the slide in their 107-run partnership to give the score some respectability.
