| Player: | GM Strydom |
DateLine: 20th February 2007
In two of his ten innings in ODIs Gregory Strydom has got 106 runs and in the remaining eight has just about managed to muster up 41 runs. That just about sums up his inconsistency that has resulted from some big hitting that has not always come off. Strydom loves to clout the ball hard and high but the methods are less scientific probably because of faulty footwork. A brash youngster he has played all his ODIs in 2006 Strydoms approach is best illustrated by his double feat for Matabeleland against Manicaland in Mutare in 2003-04 when he scored 128 and 104, with 20 fours and 16 sixes in the match. Unfortunately he has not been able to get anywhere near repeating this feat in international cricket but under coach Kevin Curran there are indications that he will do better in future.
