A superb all-round performance by the ever improving Chris Read, and a Rammy best bowling spell of 5 wickets, set up a 4 wicket victory in a low scoring event against Bacup at Acre Bottom.
 
Simon Read invited the visitors to bat, and Toby McLean dismissed opener Paul Gallagher with his third ball, the 23 year old fitness instructor tore throught the top of the innings, including having Chris Harris well caught by Martin Cropper, reducing Bacup to 52 for 6. Tim Farragher toiled through trying to hold them together, but with Chris Read stepping in with 3 wickets, the innings finally folded for 105. 
Chasing this tally was not easy, young Ben Lord, nephew of Lancashire's Ian Austin, proved why he is a prospect, dismissing both openers. At 34 for 4 the target still looked a distance away, but Chris Read came to the wicket and looked at ease against Chris Harris and the other bowlers.
