Player:CT Tremlett

DateLine: 3rd June 2008

A tall fast bowler at 6ft 7inches belongs to a cricket family from old, and is the son of Tim Tremlett, a former Hampshire seamer and also current coach, and the grandson of Maurice who played for Somerset and England in the 1940s & 50s.

In his First-Class debut against New Zealand A in 2000, he took a wicket with his first ball and ended up with 4 for 16. Some would reckon that to be an excellent start, after which he impressed one and all, playing for Hampshire in both the First Class and List A games. Later, he was called up for the England Under-19 tour of India in 2000-01. Continuing with his impressive start, he was first drafted into the preliminary squad for the ICC Champions Trophy, and the following year he was named in England's new 25-man development squad, ahead of the 2005 Ashes.

He made his one-day debut during the 2005 NatWest Series against Bangladesh and just missed a hat-trick against Bangladesh when the ball bounced off middle stump without dislodging the bails. Injuries after that have cut short his career, as he first missed both domestic cricket as well as important overseas tour to Pakistan and India. He was later called up to play against India in 2007 at LordÂ’s.
